We live inside cages we can't see. We follow rules we didn't chose. We accept passed down stories about who we're supposed to be, stories that feel like truth but aren't our truth. Like lines on a map, we assume they exist, but do they? Lines exist on paper, in books, but are nowhere to be seen in the real world. Cages are created in our collective minds. These shared hallucinations keep us small, apologetic, and performing versions of ourselves that drain our souls. But here's what I'm learning: as we release these myths, we can live more fully. Name what holds you back, choose what sets us free.
Myth: Being strong is mannish. Women should be delicate.
Freedom: Strength is healthy, health is beautiful. Health gives us the ability to navigate the world as we want.
